Stephansdom

Der Stephansdom ist das Wahrzeichen von Wien und Österreich. Er ist der Mittelpunkt der Stadt. Der Dom ist 109 Meter lang und 72 Meter breit. Insgesamt besitzt der Stephansdom vier Türme. Der Südturm ist mit 136,4 Metern der Höchste. In der Monarchie durfte keine Kirche höher als der Südturm des Stephansdoms erbaut werden. Die drittgrößte freischwingend geläutete Kirchenglocke Europas, die Pummerin, befindet sich im Nordturm.

St. Stephen’s Cathedral is the landmark of Vienna and Austria. It is the center of the city. The cathedral is 109 meters long and 72 meters wide. In total, St. Stephen’s Cathedral has four towers. The southern tower is the highest with 136.4 meters. During the monarchy, no church was allowed to be built higher than the south tower of St. Stephen’s Cathedral. The third largest free-swinging church bell in Europe, the Pummerin, is located in the north tower.
